Starlink and Veon Agree on Direct Satellite Communication for Mobile Networks

The first connections will be launched in Kazakhstan, followed by Uzbekistan and other countries

Starlink, Elon Musk's company, has signed an agreement with the international telecom group Veon, which owns the Beeline brand in Uzbekistan. As part of the partnership, Starlink satellite internet will be integrated directly into Veon's mobile networks, allowing users to connect to satellites without using terrestrial towers.

In the first stage, the technology will appear in Kazakhstan. Later, access will be extended to other Veon markets, including Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Specific launch dates have not yet been announced: the implementation schedule will be published after testing is completed.

The agreement will improve communication in remote and underserved regions, as traffic will be transmitted directly via Starlink satellites. The partnership also aligns with Veon's network modernization program, aimed at improving the accessibility and reliability of mobile services.
