A cargo Boeing of Air Atlanta Icelandic arrived at Tashkent International Airport at night, delivering a large consignment of live cattle from Liège, Belgium. On board were 93 tons of breeding animals, including Simmental and Holstein cows — some of the most sought-after breeds in the world.
Simmentals are valued for their versatility, combining meat and dairy productivity, while Holsteins are recognized as one of the best dairy breeds due to their high yield and stable production rates. The import of such animals is aimed at improving the breeding base and increasing the efficiency of local animal husbandry.
Unloading, veterinary inspection, and dispatch of the animals to their new owners were carried out promptly. Deliveries of this scale are becoming an important element of the program to strengthen the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan.
