Uzbekistan launches production of humanoid robots

The country is preparing a site for a new industry and training personnel

Uzbekistan will have its own production of humanoid robots: the "Uzeltekhsanoat" Association and South Korean Robotis signed a memorandum on creating a new industrial site. A plot of 66 thousand square meters will be allocated for the project in Tashkent, which will actually become the starting point for the formation of a new high-tech industry in the country.

In addition to the construction of production, the document includes a training program - the authorities intend to form a full-fledged system for training specialists for the robotics industry. The negotiations took place within the framework of the Uzbek-Korean round table with the participation of government representatives, including a delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev. According to Maeil Business Newspaper, the state is ready to provide priority support measures and use state programs to accelerate the launch of production.

Robotis, founded in 1999 in Seoul, is known for its modular "smart" drives and service autonomous robots, including courier models. Partnership with Uzbekistan may become the company's largest international project, and for the country itself - a step towards creating a full-fledged robotics cluster.
