Chinese Drones Take to the Fields: Uzbekistan Boosts Agricultural Sector with High Technology

50 agricultural drones and mobile complexes in the regions should accelerate the digitalization of agriculture

Uzbekistan will purchase 50 agricultural drones from China for the needs of agriculture next year. This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting with representatives of the agricultural sector. According to him, it is planned to create at least 2 mobile drone complexes in each region of the country, which will serve farms and agricultural clusters.

The head of state noted that the new drones will receive an increased carrying capacity - from 100 to 250 kg. Mirziyoyev stressed that the number of farmers and clusters implementing digital technologies and solutions with elements of artificial intelligence is growing in the country, which is already reflected in the growth of yields and efficiency of agricultural production.

Currently, hundreds of drones are used in Uzbekistan to monitor land plots and the condition of crops, and a specialized drone center has already been created under the Ministry of Agriculture. According to DK News, by November 2025, the Chinese company DJI had delivered more than 200,000 agricultural drones abroad, which are used for irrigation, plant protection, as well as in animal husbandry and fish farming.
