A 150 MW electrical energy storage system is planned to be built in the Zangiata district of the Tashkent region. The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan announced the launch of the project. The new facility will become one of the largest energy storage facilities in the region and will operate as part of the country's unified energy system.
The investment project is being implemented by the Chinese company Eaglerise Development KH Company Limited. A separate structure, Mega Energy Power TECH, is being created to carry it out. In addition to the energy storage facility itself, power lines and a substation will be built in Zangiata, which are necessary to connect the facility to the national power grid.
After completion of construction and commissioning, all infrastructure facilities will be transferred to the joint-stock company "Uzbek National Electric Networks." Design, construction, installation and earthworks are planned to be carried out in accordance with international standards and the terms of the concluded contracts, which should ensure the reliability and long-term operation of the energy facility.
