Uzbekistan to get its own Disneyland: negotiations are underway

The country should receive a large-scale amusement park and new Disney projects

Uzbekistan is discussing the possibility of launching a major international entertainment project in the format of a Disneyland park. The initiative is being considered as a way to dramatically enhance the country's tourist appeal and create a recreation area of a fundamentally new level. It is assumed that such an object will be of interest not only to residents of the region, but also to tourists from other countries.

The prospects for cooperation became one of the key topics of the meeting between the Head of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva and the Vice President of The Walt Disney Haima Washington. The parties spoke about the development of cultural and tourist infrastructure in accordance with the Disney concept, as well as the long-term presence of the company in the region.

In addition to the theme park, the launch of the Cinema Park creative space with special conditions for foreign studios and productions was discussed. A separate emphasis was placed on the training of animators, directors and screenwriters together with Hollywood specialists, the possible opening of a Disney representative office in Central Asia and the launch of a children's television channel in the Uzbek language. If the plans are implemented, Uzbekistan may receive several flagship projects of the world level at once.
