President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the progress of construction in New Tashkent, including the project of a new bridge across the Chirchik River and an integrated parking complex with a metro station. These initiatives aim to strengthen transport links between the capital and the new urban area, as well as to effectively manage flows and improve the safety of residents' movement.
The bridge is designed to handle 40-50 thousand cars per day, with special attention paid to the environment: landscaping of coastal areas, energy-saving lighting systems, pedestrian and bicycle paths are provided. A double-track tram line will also be laid across the bridge, providing comfortable movement for residents of New Tashkent.
In addition, a 21-kilometer metro line with 9 modern stations is being built, capable of serving up to 230 thousand passengers per day and fully integrated into the existing network. One of the stations will combine a parking area of 20 thousand square meters with a clear separation of flows for cars, pedestrians and public transport. The entire complex is expected to begin operations in 2027, ensuring the strategic development of New Tashkent.
