As of January 1, 2026, there were 474.9 thousand enterprises operating in Uzbekistan, according to the National Statistics Committee. The largest share is accounted for by trading companies - 153.2 thousand, or 32.3% of the total number. Small businesses occupy about 85% of the market, with 403.8 thousand organizations.
In terms of regions, the city of Tashkent leads with 108.7 thousand enterprises, followed by the Tashkent region (46.5 thousand), Samarkand (41.2 thousand) and Fergana (38.2 thousand). The most popular organizational and legal form remains LLC - there are 170.4 thousand such companies in the country.
The number of enterprises with foreign capital increased by 22% over the year and reached 18.1 thousand. China (5 thousand), Russia (3.2 thousand) and Turkey (2.1 thousand) are in the lead. Over the past five years, the number of foreign companies in the republic has almost doubled, which confirms the growing interest in the Uzbek market.
