Electronic Visas to Become More Convenient and Longer

Foreigners will be able to extend their visas once, and procedures will be digitized

From May 1, 2026, foreign citizens entering with an electronic visa will be able to extend it once for a period of up to 30 days. The Department of Migration and Personalization under the Ministry of Internal Affairs will have the right to process such extensions and simplify all procedures, including registration and digitization of documents.

In addition, the department will be responsible for issuing work permits to foreigners, which should speed up the processing of documents and make service management more convenient through a unified system.

According to the innovations, from September 1, 2026, students will be registered simultaneously with their accommodation in a dormitory. Also, from February 1, 2026, all citizens receiving ID cards will be provided with a free electronic digital signature (EDS).
