Uzbekistan is expanding its integration into the international standardization system. In Washington, the country's Agency for Technical Regulation signed a cooperation agreement with ASTM International — one of the largest organizations for the development of technical standards in the world. The document aims to introduce international standards and improve product quality in key sectors of the economy.
Currently, about 400 ASTM standards are used in the oil and gas sector and other industrial areas of Uzbekistan. By 2026, their number is planned to be increased by another 300. It is expected that the expansion of the regulatory framework will improve the efficiency of production processes and strengthen the position of domestic companies in foreign markets.
In addition to the implementation of standards, the agreement provides for educational and practical cooperation. It is planned to conduct training sessions and practical seminars in Tashkent, as well as launch joint projects for the exchange of experience and training of specialists working with modern international requirements and technologies.
