Uzbekistan's GDP Exceeds $147 Billion: Economy Grows at Record Pace

Services, industry, and agriculture ensured steady growth in 2025

According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan's gross domestic product grew by 7.7% in 2025, amounting to 1,849.7 trillion soums, which corresponds to $147.08 billion at the average annual exchange rate. The per capita figure reached 48.4 million soums, or $3,846. The main contribution to the growth came from the service sector, which increased by 8.5%, with trade, accommodation and food services (+12%), and transport, storage, information and communication (+14.5%) developing particularly rapidly.

Industrial production increased by 6.8%, with the manufacturing industry showing a growth of 7.7%, including an increase in the production of electrical equipment by 20.4% and other finished products almost doubled. Oil and gas production decreased by 3.8%, and chemical products fell by 7.5%. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries added 4.4%, in particular cotton (+25.4%), melons (+16.2%), grain (+13%) and eggs (+7%). The volume of construction work increased by 14.2%, reaching 313.9 trillion soums.

Inflation in the consumer sector decreased to 7.3%, and investments in fixed assets increased by 10.5% to 591.1 trillion soums, with the share of direct foreign investment amounting to 40.5% with an increase of 46.9%. Retail trade reached 482.4 trillion soums, with small businesses accounting for almost three-quarters of sales. Foreign trade turnover increased by 20.7% to $81.2 billion: exports increased by 24% to $33.8 billion, imports by 18.5% to $47.4 billion.
