Subscribers in Uzbekistan Will Be Able to Change Tariffs for Free

And keep their number for up to a year

In Uzbekistan, new rules for the provision of telecommunications services have entered the registration process, aimed at improving user convenience and protecting their rights. According to the updated version, if there are insufficient funds in a subscriber's personal account to pay, the contract with the operator will now remain valid for up to one year instead of the previous two months. In addition, users have gained the right to change their tariff plan free of charge to any available one, with the exception of special tariffs for certain categories or regions.

Operators are required to notify customers of any tariff changes at least 15 days in advance through the media, their website, or SMS. For the convenience of subscribers, on-site service is provided, including in remote settlements, as well as round-the-clock free access to the hotline numbers of the President's virtual reception office. It is prohibited to convert previously free services into paid ones without the customer's consent and to create a negative balance when charging fees for services.

The time frame for number portability between networks has been reduced from 8 hours to 20 minutes, and paid content services are now activated only upon request through applications or USSD codes. All services are initially provided in an inactive state. The changes will come into force three months after official publication.
