Limak is ready to bring Turkish hydropower expertise to Uzbekistan

Negotiations continue

Uzbekistan and the Turkish company Limak discussed the prospects for joint investment projects in energy and transport infrastructure. During a working meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Qo‘chqorov and Limak founder Sezai Bayaksiz, special attention was paid to the construction of hydroelectric power plants under public-private partnership terms and the development of the necessary project documentation. Limak had previously successfully implemented ten hydroelectric power plants in Turkey, which will make it possible to adapt this experience to the conditions of Uzbekistan.

In addition to hydropower, the parties discussed the modernization and management of one of Uzbekistan's international airports. Limak has significant experience in airport management in Kuwait, Senegal, and Kosovo, which opens up opportunities for introducing advanced practices in the country's transport sector.

Limak has a global presence: its annual turnover amounts to US$4.1 billion, it leads Turkey's construction industry, and is among the world's top 20 largest construction companies. Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand cooperation, continue negotiations on specific projects, and develop a long-term partnership.
