New car sales in Uzbekistan are growing

Electric vehicles are breaking records

In January 2026, the new car market in Uzbekistan showed a growth of 7.2%, reaching 28.6 thousand units. The leaders in activity were Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Fergana and Surkhandarya regions, while in Samarkand, Khorezm and Tashkent sales slightly decreased.

The segment of domestic cars stands out in particular: their sales exceeded 24 thousand units, showing an increase of more than 11%, while imported cars decreased by 10% to 4.4 thousand units. Electric vehicles have become the main driver of the market - their sales increased by 9%, amounting to 6.1 thousand units, and in some regions the growth was multiple: Samarkand - 3.5 times, Surkhandarya - 5 times.

The main part of electric car sales fell on Tashkent - 3.7 thousand units, which is more than 62% of the total volume. In general, the primary market of "green" transport grew by a record 45.3%, reaching 4.7 thousand cars, demonstrating the growing interest of the population in environmentally friendly transportation and the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles in the country.
