In Uzbekistan, cryptocurrency mining activities have officially been authorized for the first time. The National Agency for Perspective Projects issued a permit to the private company NexaGrid, registered in April 2025 in Tashkent with an authorized capital of 600 million soums. The mining equipment will be located in the Romitan District of the Bukhara Region. The company’s owners are Toymurod Sultonov and Makhmudzhon Rozimurodov, and NexaGrid’s core business is related to computer equipment management.
NexaGrid CEO Toymurod Sultonov emphasized that the project was created as the infrastructure of the future for Central Asia, rather than for quick profit. He noted that the permit was the result of long-term work on building a transparent and sustainable technological platform in the region.
According to Sultonov, the legalization of mining opens a new page for the country’s digital economy. NexaGrid is seen as the first step in creating a reliable technological foundation that will make it possible to develop the crypto industry and attract investment into the high-tech sector.
