Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic are discussing the launch of regular direct flights between Tashkent and Prague. During an online meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan and Václav Havel Airport, the parties discussed the prospects for tourist and business flow, noting that there is a visa-free regime for Czech citizens, and the issuance of tourist visas to Uzbek citizens is growing. The Czech side emphasized the high potential of cultural and historical tourism in Uzbekistan, developed infrastructure and a high level of service.
Regular flights will allow tourists and tour operators to plan trips in advance, create tourist packages and build marketing, which was previously difficult due to transit flights through Istanbul. In addition, direct communication will create new opportunities for the development of business relations between the countries.
Uzbekistan Airways is being considered as the main partner, but the Czech side is ready to cooperate with other airlines, including private ones. To continue negotiations, a new online meeting is scheduled for early March with representatives of Prague Airport, the national carrier and interested private airlines.
