In January 2026, total electricity generation in Uzbekistan reached 8.18 billion kWh, which is 8% higher than the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan. At the same time, large enterprises reduced production to 5.88 billion kWh against 6.0 billion kWh in January 2025.
The main increase came from the small business sector: production here increased to 2.3 billion kWh from 1.57 billion kWh a year earlier.
A decrease is also observed in the field of heat supply. Large enterprises generated 2,471.7 thousand Gcal of thermal energy, which is 89.7% of the volume in January 2025 (2,754.5 thousand Gcal).
