A kick-off seminar on the preparation of a feasibility study for the "Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor" project was held in Baku. The discussion was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as international financial institutions, including the Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The project envisages the creation of an energy infrastructure that will allow the transportation of electricity from renewable sources in Central Asia to European markets. Uzbekistan sees the initiative as an important step in expanding electricity exports and strengthening regional energy integration.
Feruz Kurbonov, a representative of "National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan", noted that the country is actively investing in the development of energy infrastructure and expects to increase generation by 2030, directing additional electricity to the regional grid for subsequent export to Europe. Following the seminar, the participants agreed on the key technical parameters of the project and further stages of preparation of the feasibility study.
