Pakistani state-owned Sindh Bank is exploring the possibility of opening a branch in Uzbekistan. This is reported by the Dunyo agency. The initiative has received support from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad, and representatives of the country's Central Bank held an online meeting with the bank's management to discuss prospects for cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to establishing correspondent relations with commercial banks of Uzbekistan. Sindh Bank's Deputy Executive Director Asad Ali Shah emphasized that such ties would help support trade and economic cooperation between the countries and expand financial opportunities.
The Pakistani side plans to start work through the RMA system — a specialized SWIFT user relationship management service. In the future, a gradual expansion of operations is possible, including the full opening of a branch in the Uzbek market.
