On March 13, the energy system of Uzbekistan updated the record for the use of renewable energy sources: at 11:00 am, the total production was 9,900 MW, of which 4,300 MW, or 43%, came from solar, wind and hydroelectric power plants.
The largest contribution was made by solar photovoltaic power plants — 3,100 MW, wind power plants generated 660 MW, and hydroelectric power plants provided 540 MW. The total capacity of the 15 largest solar parks in the country reaches 3,930 MW.
Experts note that cool weather after rain and snow increased the efficiency of solar panels to 79%, which was one of the reasons for the record figure. These results demonstrate that reforms in the energy sector of Uzbekistan are strengthening the environmental friendliness and stability of the entire system.
