Uzbekistan's Car Market Continues to Grow, Electric Vehicles Become Increasingly Popular

The car market demonstrates steady growth

According to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, 84.2 thousand vehicles of all types were sold in Uzbekistan in February 2026, which is 6.4% more than a year earlier, and 2% higher than January figures. The largest increase was observed in the Samarkand region — +65%, in the Tashkent region — +12%, and in the Syrdarya region — +7.2%.

Sales of new domestically produced cars amounted to about 24 thousand units, maintaining the January level and showing an annual growth of 10.7%. Imported cars increased 1.5 times compared to February 2025, reaching approximately 3 thousand units.

The electric vehicle segment continues to actively develop: in February, 6.9 thousand electric passenger cars were sold, which is 14% more than in January, and 1.5 times higher than last year's figure. The main part of sales falls on Tashkent, where about 4.5 thousand electric vehicles were sold, or 65% of the total segment volume.
