Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan strengthen road cooperation

New highway changes the region's logistics:

A meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshanbek Alimov and the Minister of Motor Roads of Turkmenistan Hangeldi Kerimov. The parties discussed the development of cooperation in the field of road construction, as well as the prospects for expanding transport and transit corridors between the two countries.

Special attention was paid to the introduction of modern technologies in road construction, digitalization of infrastructure project management and bridge design. The exchange of experience and joint work in other areas of mutual interest were also discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to actively develop practical cooperation, including the exchange of delegations and working meetings of specialists. It is expected that the construction and launch of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabad highway will help increase trade and cargo transportation between the countries and strengthen the region's role in international transport routes.
