Chinese automaker comes to Tashkent: JAC to build a plant for 30,000 cars per year

Investments in the project will amount to $135 million, the start of production is scheduled for 2026

A new car plant of the Chinese company JAC Motors is planned to be built in Uzbekistan. The enterprise will be located in the Yangi Avlod special industrial zone in Tashkent. The project is called JAC Motors Tashkent and will become one of the new stages in the development of the country's automotive industry.

The total investment is estimated at $135 million. After reaching full capacity, the plant will be able to produce up to 30,000 cars annually. The first phase of construction and the start of production are scheduled for 2026.

It is expected that some of the produced cars will be sent to foreign markets: the projected export volume is estimated at approximately $5 million. The authorities expect that the project will help attract additional foreign investment and strengthen Uzbekistan's position in the regional automotive industry.
