Uzbekistan is actively developing energy storage systems that ensure the stability of power grids and the effective integration of renewable sources. In 2024, the first two systems of 150 MW each were introduced in the Fergana and Andijan regions, and in 2025, the country launched ten facilities with a total capacity of 1245 MW.
The launch of six more systems with a total capacity of 884 MW is planned for 2026, which will further strengthen the energy infrastructure. The Ministry of Energy notes that this direction contributes to the reliability of supply and prepares the country for the large-scale introduction of green energy.
By 2030, Uzbekistan plans to reach a total installed capacity of energy storage of 4.5 GW. This progress not only increases the stability of the grids but also corresponds to the national strategy for sustainable energy development, creating conditions for the expansion of renewable sources.
