Uzbekistan is actively accelerating the development of the space industry and is betting on its own technologies. A round table with the participation of the "Uzbekcosmos" agency, deputies and scientists discussed key areas: from the introduction of space solutions in the economy to strengthening the legislative framework.
Already, remote sensing data helps to control agriculture, water resources, construction and respond quickly to emergency situations.
Special attention is paid to ambitious projects — the launch of a national satellite and the training of the first Uzbek cosmonaut. These initiatives should not only strengthen scientific potential, but also increase youth interest in technology, as well as strengthen the country's position in the international arena. The cosmonaut's flight is planned to be linked to a specific scientific program.
The plan is to launch two satellites at once with a resolution of up to 0.3 m per pixel. They will operate in orbit above 500 km, providing shooting up to 30 thousand square meters. km per day. When using two devices, the data update interval will be reduced to 40 hours. The project is designed for 3–4 years, with key stages taking place with the participation of local specialists, and the control center will be located in Tashkent.
