Uzbekistan and IBM Prepare for Breakthrough in Digital Infrastructure

As part of a working visit to the United States, the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, met with IBM Vice President Emily Fontaine to discuss expanding investments and developing technological cooperation. The main focus was on improving the investment climate and creating conditions for the participation of both local and international partners.

The key topic of negotiations was the initiative to build modern "green" data centers in various regions of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek side presented the current benefits and preferences for the implementation of such projects, which will accelerate the introduction of advanced technologies and increase the energy efficiency of the infrastructure.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in jointly implementing projects aimed at strengthening the country's digital infrastructure and attracting investment in the technology sector. Cooperation with IBM should become a catalyst for modernizing Uzbekistan's IT ecosystem and increasing its global competitiveness.
