President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the development of the Namangan region and set ambitious goals for 2026. The region is to attract $5 billion in investments, increase exports to $1.2 billion, and ensure economic growth of 9.2%. It is also planned to reduce unemployment to 3.5% and the poverty rate to 2.5%.
Over the past 8 years, more than 40,000 enterprises have already been launched in the region, and industry has grown 6 times. At the end of 2025, GRP reached 85.4 trillion soums, investments amounted to $3.3 billion, and exports amounted to $916 million. Now the authorities intend to accelerate development: the growth of services should be 16.3%, industry - 9%, agriculture - 6.8%, and tourism exports should increase by 1.7 times.
Special emphasis is placed on the implementation of AI to analyze the potential of regions. In the Naryn region, opportunities for a multiple increase in investment and exports have already been identified, and this approach will be extended to the entire region. Large projects are also being discussed: the construction of a substation for investment projects worth $547 million, the launch of an IT park for $20 million, and the development of a "smart city" with the participation of universities and startups.
