Non-cash payments at Uzbekistan's gas stations break records: already almost half of payments

The growth of digital payments confirms the popularity of cards and QR codes

In Uzbekistan, non-cash payments at gas stations continue to steadily gain share - by the beginning of April, they reached 41.9% of the total volume. The average daily income of gas stations for March amounted to 102.6 billion soums, of which 58.1% came from cash. On April 1, receipts reached 93.2 billion soums, and on April 2 - 152.6 billion soums, with more than 90% of non-cash transactions carried out through bank cards, including QR codes.

Detailed statistics show that 8.2 billion soums were paid via QR codes on April 1, and 7.7 billion soums on April 2; instant cards provided 1.6 and 3.6 billion soums, respectively; fuel cards - 2.4 and 2.5 billion soums; regular bank cards - 80.9 and 138.6 billion soums. This growth reflects the transition of consumers to digital payment methods and the active use of modern banking instruments.

Banks and payment organizations support the trend with promotions, cashback offers and new cards, including instant and specialized solutions. Users can contact contact centers for advice on payments and banking services, which further stimulates the growth of non-cash payments at gas stations.
