Uzbekistan is creating a crypto center: the Besqala Mining Valley mining zone will appear in Karakalpakstan

The project, with tax incentives until 2035, will cover the entire territory of the region

Uzbekistan has decided to create the special mining zone Besqala Mining Valley. According to the presidential decree of April 17, 2026, virtually the entire Republic of Karakalpakstan has been designated as its territory, where crypto-asset mining will be permitted subject to compliance with the established regulations.

Residents will be able to use electricity from the country's unified energy system, as well as alternative sources, including renewable energy and hydrogen installations. The resulting digital assets will be allowed to be sold both on national crypto exchanges and on international platforms, including through direct contracts and exchange for other crypto-assets.

A separate directorate is being created to manage the project, and the authorized regulator has been designated as the National Agency of Perspective Projects. One of the key incentives will be the tax regime: the income of mining companies in the zone will be exempt from taxes and fees until January 1, 2035.
