Uzbekistan has introduced the option to remotely re-register a mobile number to another person. The new service has been launched on the Unified Portal of Public Services my.gov.uz and makes it possible to complete the procedure entirely online, without visiting telecom operator offices.
Previously, changing the owner of a SIM card required the personal presence of both parties, waiting in lines, and completing paper documents. Now all stages have been converted into an electronic format and are carried out through the government portal.
The authorities note that the launch of the service is aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and speeding up citizen services by expanding digital public services and reducing the time needed to obtain in-demand services.
