Tashkent and Seoul draw closer at the parliamentary level: what Uzbekistan and Korea are preparing

The parties discussed new formats of cooperation, from economy to culture and strengthening control over agreements

A meeting was held in Tashkent between the head of the Senate of Uzbekistan's Committee on International Relations, Alisher Agzamkhodjaev, and a delegation from the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea led by An Do Gol. The main topic of the negotiations was the expansion of strategic partnership between the two countries and the strengthening of inter-parliamentary dialogue.

The parties noted that a systematic contact has already been established between the legislative bodies, including regular meetings and joint platforms. In particular, the third meeting of the heads of parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea, held in Tashkent and recognized as an effective format for developing trust and coordination, was discussed.

During the negotiations, new initiatives were proposed: activating friendship groups, strengthening parliamentary control over the implementation of reached agreements, and expanding the work of specialized committees. Cultural cooperation was also specifically addressed, including interaction between museums and the development of regional ties between the countries.
