Uzbekhydroenergo's Capital Rises to 785 Billion Sums: State Strengthens Control

An investment fund with international management has joined the shareholder structure

Uzbekistan has increased the authorized capital of Uzbekhydroenergo to 785 billion sums. The decision was implemented through an additional share issue of 54.05 billion sums, registered by the National Agency of Prospective Projects.

The new shares will be distributed among existing shareholders, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Uzbekistan National Investment Fund. The capital expansion is linked to the state's transfer of a stake in "Uzsuvloyiha" (50.8%), valued at the same amount.

UzNIF, established in 2024, is managed by Franklin Templeton Asset Management and already controls assets worth $2.44 billion. Its portfolio includes stakes in 13 large companies, including Uzbekistan Airways, Uzbektelecom, and Temiryulinfratuzilma, making the fund one of the key instruments for economic reform and capital market development in the country.
