Tashkent Airport Launches "Smart Bird Protection": New System Enhances Flight Safety

The German AVES Airport technology monitors ornithological conditions in real-time and prevents dangerous situations during takeoff and landing

The AVES Airport system, developed in Germany, has been put into operation at Tashkent International Airport. This comprehensive ornithological safety solution operates 24/7 and automatically helps reduce aviation risks associated with birds in the airfield area.

The system uses radar sensors, acoustic sensors, and real-time data analysis algorithms. It detects bird aggregations, determines their trajectory and altitude, and can then automatically activate deterrents. Special attention is paid to critical flight phases – takeoff and landing – where the risk of collisions is highest.

The implementation of this technology reduces manual control, decreases the likelihood of flight delays, and increases the airport's throughput capacity. It is noted that the methods used are environmentally safe and comply with international standards. Similar systems are planned for implementation in other airports across the country in the future.
