Russia Extends Stay for Uzbek Drivers to 180 Days

New rules aim to simplify international transportation and stabilize export supplies

The Russian Federation has decided to extend the stay for professional drivers from Uzbekistan and other CIS countries to 180 days per year, instead of the previous 90. The measure is aimed at supporting the transport and logistics sector and simplifying international transportation.

The changes will come into effect on June 30, 2026, and will apply to drivers working under a visa-free regime on international road routes. According to Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, road transport remains a key export channel, especially for agricultural products and construction materials.

The extension of the stay is expected to reduce administrative barriers and increase the stability of supplies. The business community has repeatedly raised this issue, pointing to the need for more flexible conditions for drivers involved in international logistics.
