A new round of negotiations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 project took place in Uzbekistan. The meeting was held in Tashkent and was dedicated to preparing an intergovernmental agreement on the construction of the station.
The project is considered strategically important for the entire Central Asia and is aimed at the joint use of water and energy resources. The HPP is planned to be built on the Naryn River in Kyrgyzstan, its capacity should be about 1880 MW, which will strengthen the energy stability of the region.
Representatives of the energy departments of the two countries, as well as observers from the World Bank, which could become one of the key financial partners of the project, participated in the negotiations. The parties confirmed their intention to continue coordinating the terms of the agreement and further developing the project.
