The state enterprise "Navoiyuran" has transitioned to full-scale industrial uranium mining at the Kyzylkok deposit in the Navoi region. Pilot industrial operations began in December 2024, and now the facility has reached a commercial production level. This marks another step in the implementation of the state strategy to increase uranium production until 2030.
The Kyzylkok deposit holds reserves of about 9.4 thousand tons of uranium ore with total resources of 10.9 thousand tons. In terms of reserves, it ranks third in the company's portfolio. Development is carried out using the in-situ leaching method with oxygen, which significantly increases metal recovery and reduces costs by 2–3 times. The technology is considered environmentally more preferable compared to traditional methods.
In 2025, "Navoiyuran" extracted 7 thousand tons of uranium. The launch of Kyzylkok is expected to ensure further production growth. The company is currently developing 43 deposits with total uranium resources of 151.1 thousand tons. As of 2024, Uzbekistan ranked fifth in the world in uranium production.
