The Tashkent Passenger Car Construction and Repair Plant plans to begin exporting its products to Russia. As part of the modernization program for 2025–2026, the enterprise is set to produce 70 new cars, of which 55 have already been put into operation. The remaining 15 are planned for completion by the end of June.
This year, the plant intends to supply 42 passenger-baggage cars to the Russian market. The enterprise produces several types of rolling stock, including open-plan, compartment, enhanced comfort cars, cars for passengers with limited mobility, and dining cars. All of them are equipped with modern climate control systems, USB charging ports, eco-friendly restrooms, and video surveillance systems.
In April 2025, the controlling stake in the plant (90.02%) was transferred to the State Assets Management Agency, and then to Transport Engineering Center. The supervisory board included representatives of structures associated with Russian and Kazakhstani railway engineering companies. This is expected to facilitate the implementation of joint projects for the production of rolling stock.
