A new 300 MW "Bash-2" wind farm will be built in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan. The project, valued at $116 million, is being financed by the Asian Development Bank and ACWA Power. The initiative aims to develop renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The financing structure includes $50 million from the ADB, $41 million from commercial lenders, and an additional $25 million through the LEAP 2 fund. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Standard Chartered are also participating in the project. The station will be a continuation of the "Bash" project and will include 39 turbines with a capacity of up to 8 MW, as well as a substation and a power transmission line.
Construction is expected to create at least 800 jobs, and after launch, about 25 permanent positions. The project will increase the stability of the energy system and reduce CO₂ emissions. According to the ADB, the total capacity of supported wind power projects in the country will exceed 2 GW, which reinforces the course towards large-scale development of "green" energy.
