Fergana region could become a new center for converting medical waste into thermal energy

In the Fergana region, the launch of a project to convert medical waste into thermal energy was discussed. Khokim of the region Khayrullo Bozorov held negotiations with the founder of the American company Sayat LLC Stanislav Kushnir, which specializes in the construction of such power plants.

The project is being implemented within the framework of the state program for the development of medical waste processing. Similar facilities are currently under construction in Tashkent, as well as in the Samarkand and Bukhara regions. In the second stage, scheduled for 2026–2030, the technology is expected to spread to other regions of the country.

The system involves environmentally safe disposal of medical waste with simultaneous production of thermal energy. During the meeting, the parties discussed the technical and organizational details of the project, and the regional authorities expressed their readiness to accelerate the implementation of the initiative and provide support to investors.
