The total volume of deposits in Uzbekistan's banking system reached 433.9 trillion soums by the end of the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 33.1% year-on-year. A year earlier, the figure was 326.0 trillion soums, according to data from the country's Central Bank.
Growth is observed across all maturity segments, indicating an expansion of the deposit base and increased confidence in the banking system. Demand deposits increased to 125.6 trillion soums, while short-term deposits for 1 to 30 days showed the fastest growth – their volume more than doubled and reached 20.9 trillion soums.
Medium-term deposits also showed strong dynamics: the segment from 30 to 180 days grew by 39.3%, and deposits for 180 to 365 days – by 16.3%. Long-term placements of over one year increased to 163.4 trillion soums, retaining the largest share in the structure – 37.7%, which confirms a stable trend towards savings in the longer term.
