Tashkent is strengthening control over compliance with vehicle stopping and parking rules. The decision was made against the backdrop of regular violations, where cars are left on sidewalks, near pedestrian crossings, at public transport stops, and in green areas. According to city services, such situations hinder the movement of pedestrians, public transport, and special equipment, and also create additional risks on the roads.
It is specifically emphasized that improper parking particularly complicates movement for the elderly, parents with strollers, and citizens with limited mobility. The capital's authorities believe that this directly affects the accessibility of urban infrastructure and the quality of the urban environment.
As part of the new measures, Tashkent is introducing a more active practice of evacuating vehicles that violate the rules. Cars will be moved to impound lots in the prescribed manner, and drivers are reminded of the need to strictly observe traffic rules when choosing a parking spot, otherwise, the vehicle will be evacuated with sanctions applied.
