A meeting was held in Tashkent between the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Qo'ng'irotboy Sharipov, and Pakistani scientists Mushtaq Ahmad and Shazia Sultana. The parties discussed expanding scientific cooperation and forming sustainable ties between research and educational centers of the two countries.

The main focus of the negotiations was on joint projects in biotechnology, ecology, biodiversity, and bioenergy. The high scientific status of the guests was separately noted: Mushtaq Ahmad has published hundreds of works on climate and sustainable development, and Shazia Sultana specializes in climate-resilient plants and is among the most cited researchers in her field.

Following the meeting, the parties discussed the launch of joint laboratories, academic exchanges between universities, the holding of international conferences, and the expansion of programs for faculty and scientists. The role of scientific diplomacy and Uzbekistan's course towards deepening international cooperation in innovation and research were also emphasized.
