The national carrier Uzbekistan Airways announced the expansion of its international network and the signing of a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. The new partnership provides for the launch of Tashkent – Abu Dhabi – Tashkent flights under the HY code and the actual opening of a new destination for passengers from Uzbekistan.

The agreement comes into force on May 15, 2026, ticket sales start on May 25, and the first joint flights are scheduled for August 9. The route will complement existing flights to Dubai and strengthen the Uzbek carrier's presence in the Middle East market.

Under the codeshare, passengers will have the option of single booking, as well as access to eight domestic destinations within Uzbekistan via Tashkent. Additionally, the UzAirPlus and Etihad Guest loyalty programs will be integrated, allowing passengers to earn and redeem bonuses on flights of both airlines and expanding tourism and business opportunities between the countries.
