Uzbekistan and Société Générale Discuss Large-Scale Investments

Focus on Eurobonds, Loans, and Financing Strategic Sectors

Akram Aliev, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, held talks with Teiba Guliyeva, Managing Director for the CIS region at Société Générale. The parties focused on expanding financial cooperation and developing investment instruments to support the country's economy.

Société Générale is one of Europe's largest banking groups, actively involved in corporate and investment banking, asset management, and sustainable finance. A particular emphasis in the bank's activities is on ESG approaches and "green" financial solutions, making it a key partner for long-term projects.

During the meeting, the issuance of Eurobonds, attracting syndicated loans, and the development of the capital market in Uzbekistan were discussed. The parties also considered the possibility of financing projects in the mining industry, energy, and infrastructure, including the extraction and processing of strategic and rare earth metals, which could enhance the country's investment potential.
