EADB to Invest $70 Million in Uzbekistan's FinTech Ecosystem

The agreement was signed as part of the bank's representative office opening in Tashkent

The Eurasian Development Bank will provide $70 million in financing to the Uzum digital ecosystem for the development of FinTech infrastructure in Uzbekistan. The agreement was signed as part of the bank's representative office opening in Tashkent and became one of EADB's first major digital deals in the country.

The funds are planned to be used to expand consumer lending and develop digital banking services within the ecosystem. In essence, this involves further scaling financial services integrated into an online platform that already combines trading, payment, and credit solutions.

EADB noted that it views digital platforms as a key element of the modern economy, influencing the accessibility of financial services and business growth. Uzum emphasized that the investments confirm the company's role as one of the centers for forming the national FinTech infrastructure in Uzbekistan and reflect the growing interest of international institutions in the region's digital ecosystems.
