The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has officially opened a representative office in Tashkent. The ceremony took place as part of the EDB Day event and marked the next step after Uzbekistan joined the institution in 2025. The bank is now moving towards full-fledged investment work in the country.
During the opening, Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev noted that EDB's presence will strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, transport, digital technologies, and other key areas. According to him, the bank has significant experience in supporting large projects and aligns with the country's economic development priorities.
EDB Chairman of the Management Board Nikolai Podguzov stated that the bank plans to invest up to $1.5 billion in Uzbekistan's economy by 2031. The main focus is on energy, logistics, and industry, including projects with a high integration effect and initiatives already launched and in preparation.
