According to GSMA Intelligence research, Uzbekistan could increase the share of 5G connections to 42% by 2030, with a total volume of over 16 million connections. This is almost twice the regional average. This year, the figure is estimated at approximately 5%, but an almost nine-fold increase is expected due to network modernization and expanded device availability.
The report notes that Uzbekistan already ranks second in Eurasia in terms of 5G deployment rates, trailing only Armenia and ahead of Kazakhstan and Russia. A significant contribution to infrastructure development is made by the operator Beeline Uzbekistan, which in 2025 deployed hundreds of new facilities and modernized existing stations, primarily strengthening LTE networks as a basis for further transition to 5G.
In parallel, operators are developing digital ecosystems: Ucell is building a 5 MW data center for approximately 180 server racks, while Uztelecom is integrating new services into digital platforms, including insurance and financial solutions. A separate direction is related to education – AI and digital skills programs already cover thousands of specialists, and cybersecurity measures are being implemented, including anti-spoofing systems to combat phone fraud.
