In Uzbekistan, the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection has appealed to large retail chains with a demand to ensure price stability during the Kurban Khayit holiday. Authorities note that demand for essential goods traditionally increases during this period.
The regulator recommended that retailers prevent unjustified price increases and promptly report factors that could affect prices, including rising logistics and other costs. The need to control the actions of suppliers is separately emphasized.
The agency stated that it continues to monitor the market and take measures to prevent price fluctuations for socially significant products, in order to maintain a stable situation for consumers during the holiday period.
