Uzbekistan strengthens its course towards a digital state: negotiations with HAUS and ESTDEV on GovTech and AI

Finland and Estonia shared their experience in digitalizing public services and e-government

A meeting was held in Tashkent between the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, and representatives of the Finnish Institute of Public Management HAUS and the Estonian Centre for Eastern Partnership ESTDEV. The main topic of the negotiations was the development of digital government and the implementation of modern GovTech solutions.

The parties discussed a wide range of areas, including secure data exchange between government systems, the development of digital identification for citizens, and the formation of a unified ecosystem of electronic public services. Separately, issues of accelerating the digital transformation of the public sector and simplifying public access to online services were considered.

Representatives of HAUS and ESTDEV presented the experience of European Union countries in building e-government, managing public data, and developing innovative digital platforms. Prospects for implementing artificial intelligence in public services, increasing digital literacy among the population, and expanding cooperation in cybersecurity were also discussed.
