Negotiations were held in Tashkent between Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Andrey Nahkala, Vice President of the Finnish telecommunications company Elisa. The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in developing digital infrastructure and implementing advanced telecom solutions.
The parties paid special attention to the accelerated deployment of 5G networks, as well as the use of artificial intelligence technologies for automating telecom network management. Separately, issues of improving infrastructure resilience, combating fraud, and modernizing digital services based on AI were considered.
In addition, the creation of a regional telecommunications technology center with the participation of Uzbek specialists was discussed, as well as the development of industrial IoT, "smart" infrastructure, data centers, and logistics digital solutions. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed mutual interest in implementing joint projects and exchanging experience.
